The Active Lucas Table Top Enclosure is the Lasermet solution to optical table active laser guarding. The optical table enclosure has several features that makes it easy and efficient to use, and it easily fits onto standard optical tables.

• Flat pack for do-it-yourself assembly and installation
• Magnetic end panels for easy access and removal
• The enclosure sits on rails that are attached to the optical table so that either of the inner or outer units can be slid back and forth for unobstructed access to the table area
• Fitted with a dual-channel Interlock^® Control system complete with LED warning sign

Active Guarding for Table Top Systems

The Active Lucas Table Top Enclosure is fitted with the Laser Jailer^® Active Guarding System which is designed to shut off high-power lasers within 50ms of a stray laser strike. The complete Laser Jailer^® System comprises of an outer passive laser safety enclosure which is lined throughout with active guarding detector tiles connected to the Lasermet Interlock^® System. Any stray laser beam impacting one of the tiles will isolate the laser in less than 50ms.

Due to the extremely high power of some lasers, the active guarding tiles are designed to be easily replaced once they have been struck by a laser beam. These sacrificial detector tiles can be folded and overlapped to fit into corners or to fit around equipment.  The detector tiles have a simple connector at each end to facilitate easy troubleshooting and replacement.

Passive Lucas Table Top Enclosures

The standard Lucas Table Top Enclosure options provide laser safety without the Active Guarding technology. These are suitable for lower powered lasers.
