Interlock® Control for X-ray machines
Lasermet’s X-ray Interlock® controller is a high specification Interlock® control system that is ideal for use with X-RAY sets. It forms an essential part of the engineering controls required for restricting exposure to ionising radiation and conforms to the requirements of “Work with ionising radiation” Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999: Approved Code of Practice and guidance. The ICS-6 is an expandable Radiation Interlock® Control System, designed and manufactured by Lasermet, which can achieve EN ISO 13849-1 performance level ‘e’ (Safety of machinery – Safety-related parts of control systems), when used with the appropriate equipment and wiring.
This compact, versatile unit can control interlocks, door locks, illuminated warning signs and other equipment. It can operate Interlock® switches with feedback monitoring and fault detection. It can be interfaced to Access Control and Fire Detection Systems and is fitted with an Override to allow controlled access through interlocked doors while also accepting emergency stop inputs.
The ICS-6 provides the highest levels of safety and functionality and has full start-to-end dual channel architecture and fault detection to meet the latest standards.
It has a simple, easy-to-use control panel which can be wired directly to 4 interlocks or groups of interlocks.
ICS-6 can be configured as a locking or non-locking Interlock® system featuring:

Flexible Expandable System
Lasermet’s Interlock® controllers have earned a reputation as cost effective, reliable and highly flexible.
The standard ICS-6 can be expanded to have 9 Interlock® outputs by adding the IB9 Interlock® board. ICS-6 can be connected to other Lasermet Interlock® controllers to operate as a master or slave unit.
ISO 13849-1:2006 provides safety requirements and guidance on the principles for the design and integration of safety-related parts of control systems (SRP/CS), including the design of software. For these parts of SRP/CS, it specifies characteristics that include the performance level required for carrying out safety functions. It applies to SRP/CS, regardless of the type of technology and energy used (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, etc.), for all kinds of machinery. It does not specify the safety functions or performance levels that are to be used in a particular case.
ISO 13849-1:2006 provides specific requirements for SRP/CS using programmable electronic system(s).
