Lasermet has completed the installation and commissioning of a laser safety interlock and monitoring system at NASA Langley Research Center in Virginia, USA.
The project, completed in April 2026, involved integrating multiple interconnected laboratory spaces into a coordinated laser-controlled environment. The installation was designed to support advanced research activities while providing personnel protection and clear control over laser operation across the facility.
The installation incorporated several Lasermet technologies, including:
- ICS-9 Interlock Control System
- Safety Logic Plus
- Control and Laser Monitoring (CaLM) System
- Interlocked access doors & keypad-controlled access
- Emergency stops
- Laser warning signs
Together, these systems provide coordinated interlock logic, centralised monitoring and control of the laser-controlled areas.
