LS-300 Series Large Aperture Laser Shutters
The Lasermet LS-300 Series of Large Aperture Laser Safety Beam Shutters are intended to provide a means of preventing accidental exposure to potentially harmful laser beam. The laser shutters larger proportions can handle considerably higher laser powers.

Description
Large Aperture Beam Shutters
The LS-300 Series of shutters features a motor-driven blade and is designed to form part of a high-integrity safety system. It is suitable for laser applications where the laser beam is travelling in a horizontal path.
When closed, the shutter deflects the incoming laser beam onto an internal beam dump where the energy is converted to heat which is dissipated in the aluminium casing of the shutter. When the shutter is open, the laser beam passes through the shutter without interruption. For higher power laser applications, it can be connected with an external beam dump.

SIL-Rated Version
A SIL3 version is available which, when correctly wired to a Lasermet Interlock® Control System, can provide a safety Interlock® which meets Safety Integrity Level 3 to IEC 61508-1 and Performance Level ‘e’ to EN 13849-1.
Laser Shutter and Beam Dump Compatibility
Laser shutters are typically paired with beam dumps. These beam dumps are precisely aligned with the laser shutters to fully absorb power and wavelength preventing stray and harmful reflections. The LS-300-50 Laser Shutter is compatible with:
Water-cooled Beam Dump
The BD-HCX-45 uses a closed loop water supply system for absorbing high-power laser beam energy.
Laser Beam Dump
The LS-200-BD-HP can handle laser power of up to 100W.
Beam Dump for SIL-Rated Laser Shutter
The LS-300SIL-50 is a dual blade laser shutter with separate exit ports. It can be set-up according to images shown below.
Shutter Blade Options
The shutter blade is made of stainless steel which is sufficient for most applications. Ceramic, mirror, or copper blades can be factory fitted to the blade if required.

A remote switching station allowing the shutter to be opened and closed by pressing buttons remote from the shutter itself.
