Conventional laser enclosures may not be durable enough to withstand prolonged laser exposure. Lasermet’s Active Guarding Systems shut off the laser immediately in the event of stray laser radiation hitting the enclosure.
Lasermet’s Active Enclosures is a laser safety cabin fitted with active guarding system – Laser Jailer. These modular, Class 1, room-sized enclosures are tested and certified to international laser safety standards and can be rapidly designed, built and installed by Lasermet.

Active Guarding System has fail-safe laser detection technique
The Glaser Jailer is a fail-safe safety system that enables high powered lasers to be switched off virtually immediately if the laser beam inadvertently strikes the window. It is suitable for all laser powers, wavelengths, and waveforms. The Glaser Jailer system isolates the laser safety input within 50ms of an inadvertent laser window strike, rendering the laser safe.
The ICS-LJM protects individuals and equipment from high-power laser hazards by actively monitoring enclosures using Lasermet’s Active Guarding technology.
It features advanced monitoring capabilities, including:
Real-time detection of enclosure breaches
Four Active Guarding monitoring circuits in the main unit
Expansion units for extended functionality
Automatic laser shutdown in the event of a fault
Fail-safe arming logic to prevent accidental reactivation
The Laser Jailer combines an inherently fail-safe laser detection technique and Lasermet’s proven laser Interlock® control system technology to create an active laser guarding system conforming to Machinery Directive Standard EN 13849-1.
